But I can't stop thinking about it!Lindsey R. I don't feel like I struggle as much with fear these days. It's more about getting myself to stick to the task rather than rushing off to do something that feels like less work.Tracy Million Simmonshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07566716982333768811noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2354477272060199850.post-58783095424959234302015-04-22T12:30:31.551-05:002015-04-22T12:30:31.551-05:00This is what I've just learned to do: Spend so...This is what I've just learned to do: Spend some time sitting, asking yourself... What's the fear behind moving ahead? Is it that you don't know where to go next with the story? Is it a fear that the book won't be successful? Is it a fear that it won't sound as good as the story in your head? Is it that you don't want to face the process every day? Fear of having to go out and peddle the book? Just play around with all the possible fears that it could be. When you find the fear that it is, just feel that fear, let it sit inside you. Do you feel it in your chest, your throat? Feel the fear fully and completely until it lifts. Probably way more common in writers than you think. I know you'll keep at it until it's finished. Then comes the editing and editing and... :) Nancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09160717876156540393noreply@blogger.com
